International Relations Service

About Domain

Our International Relations Service plays a strategic role in strengthening the institution's presence in international contexts, supporting the Board of Directors and the R&D Centres in maximising global collaboration opportunities through: Developing high-level partnerships with foreign entities in strategic areas supported by cooperation agreements; Promoting and providing specialised support for international scientific mobility within the organisation's strategy for attracting and retaining talent; Monitoring the international environment in dimensions that could resonate with the institution's R&D activities and international status Additionally, the SRI has been responsible for the executive coordination of the UT Austin Portugal Programme for several years, a Science and Technology partnership between the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology and the University of Texas at Austin (USA). We also host the INESC Brussels Hub, with an independent management structure and an office in Brussels.

Andreia Passos

Andreia holds a Master’s degree in Sociology (2008) and an Undergraduate degree (2005) in European Studies – English & German (which earned her the prize “Engineer António de Almeida” granted by the Engineer António de Almeida Foundation for the students of UP that are distinguished in their courses for the results obtained) both from the Faculdade de Letras da Universidade do Porto.

Andreia has been working as a researcher and consultant for INESC TEC's Centre for Innovation, Technology and Entrepreneurship ever since its creation in 2007 and in 2015, joined INESC TEC’s team for the project Enterprise Europe Network, assisting companies to go international and enhancing their innovation management capacities. She is a Key Account Manager for Portuguese SMEs benefitting from coaching services under the H2020 SME Instrument funding scheme and also and Innovation Expert under Enterprise Europe Network's services Enhacing Innovation Management Capacities of SMEs. Andreia has a seat in the Network's Sector Group, Automotive, Transports and Logistics, representing the Network's national consortium.

In CITE, Andreia has gained sound experience with consultancy and audit work on innovation management, supporting several Portuguese companies in the implementation / assessment of Research, Development and Innovation Management Systems in accordance with the Portuguese Standard for Research, Development and Innovation Management Systems. She co-authored several studies and papers addressing innovation and innovation management related topics and participated in feasibility studies aimed at assessing market potential of new concepts and business models.

Andreia has extensive experience with writing of project proposals (in particular, for national funding schemes) and has been a key contributor for the implementation and field management of some of CITE's most relevant projects (e.g.: Tec-Empreende, Programa de Empreendedorismo Tecnológico; Centro de Excelência para as Indústrias Criativas e Inovação; Enterprise Europe Network; BIP – Business Ignition Programme e IN&OUT – Porto’s Acceleration Programme).
