About the Project
Model for Operational Reserve Adequacy
The MORA project consisted of developing a simulation tool based on the sequential Monte Carlo algorithm to assess the adequacy of the static and the operatinal reserve of interconnected generation systems. This project arose from a request from the Portuguese transmission system operator, REN, to meet the new challenges in the electricity system arising from the integration of a greater volume of variable renewable power and the progressive interconnection of European networks.
