
Sara Sofia Martins
Adjunct Professor at the School of Technology and Management of Polytechnic of Porto and researcher at INESC TEC. Completed her PhD in 2018 at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto, earning the title of European Doctorate. Her main area of scientific activity are Operations Research and Management Science. She collaborated on 8 R&D projects. Her current research interests are: 1) Food Waste; 2) Collaborative Logistics; 3) Sustainable Supply Chains; 4) Distribution; 5) Retail Operations.

The project deals with a first part - PHASE I - of a more complete proposal. PHASE I: Survey of requirements and description of the current operation in Baixa and Ribeira (pilot areas) Collection and processing of data from the “As Is” situation of the pilot areas. Identification and description of the current situation of the pilot areas. In this phase, all the requirements and constraints inherent to the operation of collecting urban waste in commercial establishments will be detailed, analyzing not only what is currently done but also the possible alternatives. All the resources that can be used will have to be described, as well as their specifications and the advantages and disadvantages associated with each one. Identification of the scenarios to be analyzed in Phase II.
