Maria Teresa Andrade

Maria Teresa Andrade is an Assistant Professor at FEUP, at DEEC. She obtained a degree in Electrotechnical and Computing Engineering in 1986, the MSc in 1992 and the PhD in 2008, at FEUP. She participates in research activities at INESC TEC, integrated in the research team of the Multimedia Systems Area of the Center for Telecommunications and Multimedia. Main interests include context-awareness, mobile and adaptable multimedia applications in heterogeneous environments; 3D and multiview video streaming; quality of service and of experience in multimedia services; semantic technologies and content recommendation; digital television, digital cinema and new media.

iBROW

iBROW aims at developing a novel, low-cost, energy-efficient and compact ultra-broadband short-range wireless communication transceiver, capable of addressing future network usage requirements. This will be pursued using Resonant Tunnelling Diode (RTD) devices which are the fastest pure solid-state electronic devices operating at room temperature, with reported working frequencies exceeding 1 THz. By developing a unified technology that can be integrated into both ends of the wireless link, namely consumer portable devices and fibre-optic supported base-stations, the project aims at increasing the RTD output power, optical detection efficiency and energy efficiency at target frequencies, enabling high-speed short-range wireless communications.

Cloud-Setup

The MOG CLOUD SETUP aims to develop tools for post-production of high quality audiovisual content for the television industry that allow the automation in inserting and/or replacing content in TV programming and that can work both inside a radio broadcast station as well as in a cloud-based environment. This project is of extreme importance for the television and audiovisual content industries as it allows the automation of processes that are extremely expensive nowadays. This way, it will facilitate and speed up the content formatting that must be displayed in multiple distribution platforms. Project Datasheet
