Problem
Assessment of breast aesthetics currently relies on a subjective and time-consuming process involving a panel of observers and/or a self-evaluation. The absence of quantitative aesthetic metrics makes the communication between clinicians and patients difficult.
Therefore, there is a clinical need for a solution in order to ease the pre-breast surgery planning.
Solution
Cosmetic results assessment tool in Breast Cancer Conservative Treatment.
Developed at INESC TEC, the BCCT.core software is an innovative solution to support the aesthetic assessment of breast reconstruction.
BCCT.core (Breast Cancer Conservation Treatment. cosmetic results) software tries to simplify and standardize the aesthetic evaluation of BCCT. It is a totally objective tool for the quantification of the aesthetic results in BCCT, discriminating between four categories (excellent, good, fair and poor) of overall subjective evaluation.
